Israeli Military Announces Death of Reservist in Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced Tuesday the death of a reservist during active operations in southern Lebanon, identifying the soldier as Ayal Uriel Bianco, 30, a firefighting vehicle driver from Katzrin in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

The military disclosed that Bianco was killed "during combat," offering no further elaboration — however, an Israeli state-owned news outlet reported that his death resulted from a Humvee rollover accident rather than direct enemy fire. Three additional reservists were caught up in the same incident, with one sustaining moderate injuries and two others wounded lightly.

Bianco's death comes amid an ongoing Israeli ground presence in Lebanon, which was launched in early March following Hezbollah rocket fire toward Israel against the backdrop of the broader U.S.-Israel-Iran war.

The military has yet to provide additional details surrounding the circumstances of the incident.
